Miscarriages Of Justice

Our Criminal department has years of expertise in applications to the Criminal Cases Review Commission. The Criminal Cases Review Commission was set up as a final review body in respect of the safety of criminal convictions.

The Commission reviews convictions and considers submissions on new evidence, it also has the power to refer a case back to the Northern Ireland Court of Criminal Appeal if it believes the conviction is unsafe.

Our team of experts can help clients in preparing and submitting Applications to the CCRC, we also deal with appeals which have been successfully referred back to the Northern Ireland Court of Criminal Appeal.

All Miscarriage Of Justice cases are not confined to applications to the Criminal Cases Review Commission, in exceptional circumstances out of time appeals may be lodged to the Northern Ireland Court of Criminal Appeal
